This Shop Rocks, on Brick Lane, London is a family run vintage shop established in 2007. It offers a mix of affordable, individually hand-picked, high-end women’s vintage clothing and accessories from the 1900s to the 1950s.  It has fast become one of London’s premier vintage retailers championed by the London fashion set. This Shop Rocks also now specialises in vintage gramophones, Victorian and early 20th century objets d′art and furniture.

This Shop Rocks is built on the 20 years’ vintage buying experience of head buyer Timothy Sanderson.  Having grown up the child of successful antique dealers, he has been immersed in arts and social history from an early age.  Un-swayed by the vagaries of “fashion”, he believes a gown stitched by an unknown seamstress in the 1930’s is as important as any Dior gown created for the privileged elite. This democratic design ethos was fine-tuned during his Master’s degree in fashion where he specialised in women’s tailoring.  He now creates beautiful one off pieces of ladies outerwear made using rare and exotic vintage and antique fabrics sourced from around the world.

Timothy’s father, Robert Sanderson originally trained in ceramics and sculpture. The skills honed from these crafts form the basis of his millinary creations. His exclusive sculptural designs, only on sale at This Shop Rocks have been featured in 'Italian Vogue', 'Spanish Vogue' and 'The Hat' amongst others. Robert (otherwise known as Sandy) is This Shop Rocks' chief hat buyer, making the shop London's premier vintage hat retailer.
